If you're looking for a venue for your next conference or event then Merseyside could be the ideal location. Ok, so we may be a little biased particularly given that we're based so close to Liverpool. However, we've organised some great events in the area and can recommend some exciting and unique spaces. So if you're planning an event in Liverpool or on the Wirral, then check out some of our best ideas below:
Liverpool: Voted as European Capital of Culture in 2008, Liverpool has a rich cultural and architectural history. One of our favourite buildings in the city is the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. With stunning gothic arches the Cathedral is made up of a number of beautiful spaces including the ornate lady chapel which is located in the oldest part of the building. The expansive Great Space is perfect for large events while the intimate oak panelled function rooms are great for meetings and conferences. With its unique and beautiful spaces, Liverpool Cathedral is the ideal venue for treasure hunts and puzzles.
To make the most of this historic building we've created a special activity, the Cryptex, centred around this handheld vault that holds a secret message. To retrieve the cryptex, your team must work together and follow a trail of clues and codes to a hidden room of challenges designed to test your team’s communication and problem solving skills to the limit. This unique activity encourages teams to explore the cathedral solving riddles and completing challenges along the way. This Di Vinci style team activity is the perfect way to get teams working together and is totally unique to this city centre location.
Wirral: Looking to get away from the City? The Wirral is a peninsula located between the River Dee and the River Mersey and boasts views of both the Welsh Hills and the spectacular Liverpool skyline. With great motorway links, the Wirral is easily accessible. Plus, it's central location makes it an ideal destination for groups travelling from North or South of the UK.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay on the Wirral we can recommend a number of hotels including the luxurious Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa and the beautiful and historic Inglewood Manor. Both venues have excellent conference facilities and are the perfect setting for a range of indoor and outdoor team building challenges and country sports. Why not join us for some medieval fun, construct a catapult and try your hand at archery. Alternatively, make the most of the countryside with a clay pigeon shoot.
